A scientist and rock climber

Anna is an Australian artist who has lived in Hobart for the past 20 years.  Almost all her art is inspired by the natural environment, and she regularly immerses herself in that environment through bushwalking and (until recently) outdoor rock-climbing. Her art shows an intimate connection with these surroundings, and a particular interest in texture and pattern. Her art practice involves a variety of media, including drawing, printmaking and photography with recent works focusing on rock textures and shapes.  Texture is built up by layers of fine black lines or splashes of colour.
