Gaye Barnes is a Huon jeweler who uses the arcane method of seed bead jewellery. First mass produced in Murano in the 1400s, seed beads have been used by many cultures to decorate clothing, shoes and as trade items. Gaye’s work follows historical patterns to combine the delicate glass beads with freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver beads in very elegant and feminine patterns.
