Upstairs from the Tricycle Café, and across from the Long Gallery, Nolan Art used to be part of a whaling warehouse. These days it’s an art gallery with a difference, showcasing contemporary Tasmanian art alongside boutique art tuition.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you can find something to suit you here. A conversation about art, a lovely drawing to take home or an exhibition opening once a month. Our artists include photographers, printers, painters, jewellers and sculptors.
We arrange private tuition as well as rather painty art parties. During the holidays we hold art workshops for children and full day sessions for adults in everything from abstraction to introductory oil painting.
Nolan Art is a practical place where you can commission a painting or have your partner pose for your friends for her birthday party.
