The Bridgewater Jerry is a fog that drifts down the river Derwent from the Derwent Valley. It rarely reaches the Eastern Shore but when it does the familiar is shrouded in mystery. On this misty winter evening the lights of the bridge were added to by emergency vehicles. Was it a vehicle breakdown, a sad soul threatening to jump or routine maintenance? The imagination works hard in lockdown.
