This figure is for the Art Nu exhibition. She expresses a woman with a mature figure, after child bearing and breast feeding who feels the rich possibilities in her life. She feel like she can fly.

The form is hand built from a stoneware sculpture clay that has embedded trachyte. At maturation this mineral “explodes” leaving a small crater and metallic spot. The bronze glazes are somewhere between Japanese oil spot and hares fur glazes and develop interesting crystals depending on the angle of the surface and position in the kiln.
