Planet television – Roza

A steel and ceramic work of architectural scale, Planet Television reverses the contemporary trend for  taking the human hand out of imagery. Using rough ceramic discs emerging artist Roza creates a screen of rudimentary pixils that are connected by a steel wire network.

A clever take on the flattened and back lit saturated people we see on television these expressively rendered suggestions are daubed with ceramic oxides and glazes. The temptation is to put a picture together ourselves rather than passively consume.
