Land Forms

Land Forms is an exhibition that brings together three Tasmanian artists to measure the changes to the landscape since colonial settlement. Julia Knight collaborates with the unruly fragments of Tasmanian trees to reveal new meanings. Influenced by British Modernist sculptors like Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore her beautifully finished sculptures are made of Huon pine and black heart Sassafras, species that once were squandered. John Ingleton, printmaker, collects images of Hobart’s colonial wrought ironwork and transforms them with local floral and geographical motifs.
