This series takes the familiar motifs of Victorian cast ironwork from Hobart’s historic buildings and fills their linear outlines with Tasmanian flora and scenery, making the colonial indigenous.
John Ingleton is a renowned Tasmanian digital printmaker whose elegant and decorative works on paper combine history, location and flora. In the Land Forms exhibition he collects European floral motifs from Hobart’s colonial decorative cast iron and fills their outlines with Tasmanian flora and iconic landscape.
