Caroline McGregor

Caroline McGregor is a multidisciplinary artist based in Southern Tasmania. McGregors’ art practice, which spans sculpture, painting, drawing and installation, consistently investigates a space’s potential to achieve a sense of psychological and emotional weight. Inspired by both Minimalism and Modernism, she explores viscerally charged moments through reductive avenues. While largely an abstractionist, in a nod to her dramatically beautiful environment her latest body of work consists of a series of small oil paintings on canvas using a limited palette – a moody meditation on the storms that roll in over the D’Entrecasteaux Channel. McGregor trained at the National Art School in Darlinghurst where she achieved her MFA. Her paintings, drawings and sculptures are held in collections across Australia and abroad.
