Twilight of the gods

The writing was on the wall for the Greek and Roman gods with the Edict of Milan (313 CE) when the Emperor Constantine legalised Christianity in the Roman Empire.

The party was over when Emperor Theodosius signed the Edict of Thessalonica (380 CE) confirming it as the religion of the Roman world.
