Erin Amor
31 January 2020
This is Tasmanian painter Erin Amor’s second Nolan Gallery solo exhibition exploring themes of deep time, the forces of nature and humanity’s impact on the planet. A painter from Southern Tasmania’s Huon region, she is a Fine Arts graduate of the University of Tasmania.
This body of work creates an elegant parallel between the interactions of fluidly applied oil colours and the planet’s systems of climate and geology. Erin Amor is a committed environmentalist who uses her art to raise questions about climate change responsibility and humanity’s place as the creator of the Anthropocene. The works are beautiful, poetic ruminations on the past, the present and the future we create.
